A Message to Ward 4

I’m proud to share a little more about who I am, why I’m running, and the values guiding my campaign for Burlington City and Regional Council in Ward 4.

What Guides My Work

Listen with Intention

I believe the best ideas come from paying close attention to people’s lived experiences. Listening carefully, especially to perspectives that are often overlooked, leads to stronger understanding, better conversations, and more thoughtful decision-making.

Think Beyond Silos

Community challenges are rarely isolated. I’m guided by an understanding of how housing, governance, infrastructure, and social systems connect and shape people’s everyday lives.

Act with Care and Accountability

Trust is built through consistency, transparency, and follow-through. I aim to approach community leadership with integrity, clarity, and a genuine sense of responsibility to the people affected by local decisions.

These principles continue to shape how I engage in community spaces, approach local issues, and think about leadership and public service in Burlington and across the Halton Region.

My Approach to Community Leadership

In practice, my approach to community leadership is grounded in listening, collaboration, and a practical understanding of how local systems, policies, and decision-making processes shape everyday life. It draws on hands-on community experience, thoughtful policy analysis, and a commitment to approaching complex issues with care, clarity, and transparency.

I’m particularly attentive to how local decisions affect people differently and to the importance of making civic conversations more accessible, understandable, and connected to people’s lived realities. This perspective continues to shape how I engage with local issues, work alongside others in community spaces, and think about the future of Burlington and the Halton Region.

Community Involvement

Nonprofit & Community Leadership

I’ve worked closely with local nonprofits and volunteer-led organizations to support governance, strategic planning, and sustainable service delivery. This has included governance support, strategic planning, and helping organizations navigate change while staying rooted in their community mission.

Housing, Aging & Social Infrastructure

My community work and policy research focus on how housing, aging, and social supports intersect at the local level. I’m particularly interested in approaches that help people remain connected, supported, and housed as neighbourhoods evolve.

Civic Engagement & Local Governance

I’ve spent years engaging with residents, elected officials, and community partners around local decision-making. This includes participating in public consultations, supporting community initiatives, and staying actively involved in conversations about transparency, collaboration, and good governance.
