Community Leadership & Involvement

My involvement in the community has taken many forms over the years, rooted in a belief that strong communities are built through consistent engagement, shared responsibility, and meaningful local connection. This involvement has included nonprofit leadership, volunteer initiatives, community events, and participation in civic spaces where local decisions directly affect people’s everyday lives.

Rather than a comprehensive list, this page highlights some of the organizations, initiatives, and community efforts I’ve been most actively involved with and the experiences that continue to shape how I think about leadership, governance, and public service in Burlington and across the Halton Region.

Pearson Nursery & Nonprofit Governance

My experience with Pearson Nursery included supporting nonprofit governance, organizational planning, and community-based early childhood programming during a period of significant transition and change. During the pandemic, this work involved helping the organization adapt programming and operations in ways that supported staff continuity, maintained connections with participating families, and responded to emerging community needs. It also included supporting local initiatives and partnerships focused on giving back to frontline healthcare workers and families across Halton. These experiences strengthened my understanding of leadership, collaboration, organizational resilience, and the importance of stable community institutions during periods of uncertainty.

These experiences continue to shape how I think about community leadership, collaboration, and the role local government plays in supporting connected, resilient, and livable communities across Burlington and the Halton Region.
